About Me

Weaving draws together my love of fibers, my passion for color and my fascination with organizational structure. Since childhood I've been captivated by fabrics: damask table linens, antique coverlets, plaid shirts, even the twill of blue jeans.   I work primarily with natural fibers, knowing that weavers have been doing so for millennia. Working with fine linen, cotton and silk threads allows me to feel I am part of the long tradition of weaving that graces our lives.   Colors surround us and color is half of why I weave. I have lived all my life in the South, most of it in Florida, more than half of it in North Florida. It is sheer joy to interpret the colors I see in Nature through the threads I place on my looms.    Working exclusively on hand looms I use traditional weave structures in my work, interpreting them for 21st century life. I strive to produce quality items which will provide long service, bringing a bit of usable art into everyday life.
